How-to: Changing your Windows 11 PIN
Your PIN is what you use to sign in to Windows, so it's worth updating every so often, especially if you think someone might know it. Here's how to change it in a couple of minutes.
- Press Windows key + I to open Settings
- Go to Accounts → Sign-in options
- Click PIN (Windows Hello) to expand it
- Hit Change
- Enter your current PIN to verify it's you
- Type your new PIN, then again to confirm
- Click OK to save.
That's it, your new PIN is active straight away and ready to use for signing in, Windows Hello, and app authentication.
Forgot your PIN? No stress. Click I forgot my PIN on the sign-in screen and you can reset it by verifying with your Microsoft account instead.
